Scotland must beat England to have any hope of progressing to the knockout stages of the World Cup after suffering an agonising Pool B defeat to Argentina in Wellington.
Chris Paterson and Ruaridh Jackson kicked a penalty apiece as Scotland took a 6-3 half-time lead after Felipe Contepomi had put Argentina in front.
